Psychic, when used as an adjective, indicates something of or pertaining to psyche. For instance:
- To experience psychic distress is to experience distress within the psyche.
- To study psychic plurality is to study the plurality of selves within the psyche.
- To explore psychic structure is to explore the structures of psyche.
A related word, intrapsychic, indicates those things which happen in or amid the psyche, as in intrapsychic communication (communication between subpersonalities).
