Those who were around to enjoy the original internet, Web 1.0, will recall gif men in construction hats jackhammering ceaselessly. Well, for the next five years, let’s call that gif-guy-of-yore the patron spirit of this website.
Why five years to cobble a website together? Because, like my digital namesake (faithharkey.com), I’m officially under construction, shifting from writing novels for children, and returning to grad school. The plan? To pursue my Masters and Ph.D. in Depth Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. In case you’re not familiar with the term, depth psych is the turf of Jung and Hillman, the underworld and the unconscious.
But rather than descending quietly into that academic night, I thought I might send back the occasional missive: Having a great katabasis! Wish you were here! So, for the time being, that's most of what you'll find on this site: news from Pacifica, processed through the Faith filter. Eventually, I’ll probably sprinkle in some of my academic writing, maybe post any upcoming speaking gigs. But in the meantime, if you’re curious what it’s like to return to grad school after a long hiatus, or if you’re interested in archetypes and amplification, stop by regularly for updates.
